Brinker International Inc. has named Thomas J. Edwards, Jr., chief financial officer, effective March 16, the company said Tuesday.
Edwards succeeds Guy Constant, who resigned last March and was named CFO at Plano, Texas-based Rent-A-Center Inc. in June. Edwards most recently served as CFO at the Wyndham Hotel Group.
Marie Perry, who had served as interim CFO at the Dallas-based parent to casual-dining chains Chili’s Grill & Bar and Maggiano’s Little Italy, will continue in her positions as Brinker senior vice president, treasurer and controller, a company spokesperson said.
Prior to Wyndham, Edwards held leadership positions at Kraft Foods and Nabisco Foods.
"Tom's extensive background with global consumer brands and top-tier finance organizations will be instrumental in helping Brinker continue to deliver shareholder value," said Wyman Roberts, Brinker’s CEO and president, in a statement. "In addition, his strong track record working in a global, multi-unit environment will be an asset to our team as we implement growth and operational initiatives across our brands."
Brinker International owns, operates and franchises 1,634 restaurants, including 1,585 Chili’s locations and 49 Maggiano’s units.
