Morton's The Steakhouse serves a variety of beverages classic cocktail lines, different types of martinis and other drinks such as beer, but it also serves several signature cocktails.
The Lemon Drop Thyme Mortini is a new signature cocktail introduced for the holiday season. The drink is made with citrus vodka, limoncello, fresh lemon, muddled thyme and a dash of syrup. It's served in a sugar-rimmed glass.
"Heavenly Mortinis" are on the chain's menu throughout the year, but flavors change seasonally through use of different foams or purees. Signature cocktails at Morton's range from $10 to $13, depending on the market; for New York, Field said, the range is $11 to $14.
"We do a lot of research and development on cocktails, then roll them out nationally and internationally," said Tylor Field III, vice president of wine and spirits for Morton's. The new signature drinks were created with the help of mixologist Francesco Lafranconi. Field had attended one of Lafranconi's presentations and brought him on board a little over two years ago to "help us with what the next generation wants."
