The Smith & Wollensky Restaurant Group has introduced a seasonal selection of menu items at its eight upscale steakhouses around the country.
The summer grill menu, which debuted Thursday, is being offered alongside the Boston-based chain’s standard à la carte menu.

In addition to launching the new menu items, Smith & Wollensky said it is planning to open a second Boston location later this summer. The new restaurant will be located on the Atlantic Wharf overlooking Boston Harbor.
The 10,000-square-foot space will include seating for up to 120, outdoor dining and waterfront views. It marks the first opening for the eight-unit chain in several years.
Michael Feighery, president of Smith & Wollensky, said the brand “is eager to expand our presence in the Boston market with the addition of a second location.”
The company said the expansion of Smith & Wollensky, which is owned by the Boston-based private equity firm Bunker Hill Capital, is ongoing in the United States and abroad.
The summer menu includes:
• A surf and turf of sliced USDA Prime dry-aged sirloin accompanied with roasted colossal lump crab, fingerling potatoes and green bean salad
• Chilled gazpacho with lobster quesadilla
• Crispy tempura soft shell crabs served with Asian peanut slaw
• Lobster mango salad
• Seared sea scallops with tomatillo gazpacho
• Grilled line-caught Atlantic swordfish topped with au poivre sauce.
Prices vary by location.
The menu also features four new frozen hurricane cocktails: Banana Berry Colada, Fuzzy Peach, Watermelon Refresher, and Summer Breeze.
“It’s been a long winter and with the arrival of summer sun, we are celebrating with cool drinks, fresh ingredients and flavorful seafood flown in daily to each of our restaurants across the country,” said Kim Lapine, vice president of marketing, in a statement.
The summer menu is available at all Smith & Wollensky locations except those in New York.
