SHARON Pa. Responding to the rising cost of chicken wings, Quaker Steak & Lube has launched a line of breaded “boneless wings.”
The new item, the casual-dining chain’s first breaded product, is made of panko-crusted chicken breast coated in a choice of the chain’s signature sauces. It is being introduced as a promotional product, but a spokesman said it would likely move to the regular menu this summer.
The wings are available in orders of six for $5.99, 12 for $8.99 or 24 for $16.99. The 6- and 12-piece orders come with a choice of celery or carrots and ranch or blue cheese dip. The 24-piece order comes with carrots and celery and two dips.
As part of the promotion, the chain is offering orders of five wings for 50 cents per wing on Thursday, with an order of celery, carrots and dip available for an additional 99 cents.
Quaker Steak & Lube operates 37 restaurants in 13 states and Canada.
