Krystal promotes Bob Marshall to CFO

The Krystal Co., a regional burger concept, has named Bob Marshall chief financial officer.

Marshall, who has served as Krystal’s vice president of development since early 2008, replaces as CFO James Bear, who is retiring, the company said.

Before joining Krystal, Marshall served as president of the Livingston Co., a private merchant bank that provides growth capital to small and mid-market companies in the southeastern U.S. Previous experience includes stints at Chattem Inc. and The Procter & Gamble Co.

Marshall has been tasked with preparing the Chattanooga, Tenn.-based chain with new growth.

“We appreciate Bob’s contributions and are confident that he will continue to have a positive impact in this new role,” said Fred Exum, Krystal’s president and chief executive. “We are certain he will be a driving force on the team as we prepare for tremendous growth in the coming years.”

Krystal has 386 quick-service restaurants in 11 Southern states.
