DineEquity names Tierney CFO

GLENDALE Calif. DineEquity Inc., parent to the IHOP and Applebee’s Grill & Bar chains, on Monday named John “Jack” F. Tierney chief financial officer.

Tierney, previously the CFO of The Dial Corp., replaces Thomas Conforti, who resigned in September. Greggory Kalvin, who was serving as interim CFO, will resume his prior role as vice president and corporate controller, officials said.

Acertified public accountant, Tierney also has held CFO roles at Global Passenger Services and Brother Industries, as well as controller positions at Perdue Farms and Nestle USA.

DineEquity franchises or operates about 3,400 restaurants under the IHOP and Applebee’s brands. The company is scheduled to release fourth-quarter earnings results on Wednesday.
