Flavor of the Week: Cayenne fires up dishes and drinks with spicy flavor

The ground red pepper is a piquant addition to a variety of foods, juices and cocktails

Where can you find cayenne? Just about everywhere, as the spicy red pepper kicks up dishes ranging from Buffalo chicken and macaroni and cheese to seafood, as well as fresh juices and cocktails. While most consumers are already familiar with cayenne, the spice has still found room to grow on restaurant menus, with an increase of 47 percent over the past four years in menu appearances, according to Datassential.
