COLUMBUS Ohio Damon’s International, the operator or franchisor to 65 Damon’s Grill restaurants, has named Robert Forbes vice president of operations for the casual-dining chain, the company said Tuesday.
Forbes’ new role with Damon’s was effective Sept. 1, and he replaced Will Liphart, who left the company for unspecified reasons.
Forbes joined Damon’s as a general manager in 1998, and prior to this promotion served as a regional vice president. The company said that in his new role Forbes will oversee operations at both corporate and franchised restaurants, and also will work with the company’s purchasing, marketing, training and real estate support services.
Damon’s was purchased last month by G&R Acquisitions Inc. of Pittsburgh, the same investment company that purchased Max & Erma’s in April. Both Damon’s and Max & Erma’s will remain based in Columbus, and G&R has said both chains will be positioned for growth.
