Rosa Mexicano has named three key leadership roles — Steve Weissman as CFO, Ellie Skinner as director of training and development, and Stephan Hengst as director of marketing — the casual-dining Mexican brand said Wednesday.
“The team assembled to oversee the chain’s growth is now complete,” the company said in a statement.
“We are excited to add these talented individuals to the team in order to focus on the continued success of the existing base of restaurants while we begin exploring opportunities to re-start the growth of our brand,” said Chris Westcott, president and CEO.
Weissman previously served as CFO at Fireman Hospitality Group, B.R. Guest Restaurants and Apple-Metro Inc. Skinner is the former regional director for McCormick & Schmick's Seafood & Steaks. Hengst previously led marketing, communications and content development outreach for The Culinary Institute of America.
These hires are part of bigger changes for the brand. Earlier this year, Rosa Mexicano was acquired by TriSpan Rising Stars LP.
“With these additions, Rosa is prepared to take the next steps forward in its long and successful journey,” said Jessica Kates, partner with TriSpan. “TriSpan is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with this team.”
The first Rosa Mexicano location opened in New York City in 1984. Today there are eleven locations throughout the U.S., including restaurants in Los Angeles, Miami and San Francisco.
