Red Mango rolls out fruit parfaits, smoothies

DALLAS Red Mango on Tuesday expanded its menu to include probiotic smoothies and made-to-order parfaits at participating locations.

The parfaits and smoothies are being launched with the tagline “Re-Think Lunch.”

“It’s all about giving the customer choices,” said Dan Kim, president and chief executive of the 61-unit Red Mango. “Sometimes health can take a backseat when grabbing a meal on the run.”

Red Mango parfaits are made-to-order in two combinations that include the company’s proprietary frozen yogurt, fresh fruit and organic flax seed granola. The Mixed Berry parfait is layered with fresh blueberries, strawberries and bananas, and the Tropical parfait offers pineapples, bananas and mangos. Prices for the 16-ounce parfait range, depending on location, from $3.95 to $4.75.

The smoothies are offered in four flavors: strawberry-banana, tropical mango, acai berry and pomegranate. Prices for the 16-ounce version range from $3.95 to $4.95 and for the 24-ounce cup from $4.95 to $5.95, depending on location.

Both the 16-ounce parfaits and smoothies are about 300 calories.

Red Mango has stores in 14 states.
