Pollo Tropical adds Caribbean fajitas to Northeast stores

MIAMI Pollo Tropical, a 90-unit island-theme quick-service chain based here, said Thursday it was rolling out its Caribbean Chicken Fajitas to its locations in New Jersey, Staten Island, N.Y., and Hartford, Conn.

The Caribbean Chicken Fajitas feature marinated grilled chicken breast strips, sauteed onions and peppers along with such fixings as chopped tomatoes, lettuce, shredded cheese, sour cream, guacamole and three tortillas. Individual fajita meals are served with white rice and black beans and are priced at $5.99.

“We developed the Pollo Tropical Caribbean Chicken Fajitas to be a natural fit and complement to the healthful variety and popularity of our other menu items,” said Kim Miller, senior director of marketing for Pollo Tropical.

Pollo Tropical, which is owned by Syracuse, N.Y.-based Carrols Restaurant Group Inc., operates more than 90 company-owned stores in Florida, New Jersey, New York and Connecticut. The company also has franchisees in Puerto Rico, Ecuador, the Bahamas, and Trinidad and Tobago.
