DALLAS Pizza Hut has extended online-ordering capabilities to nearly all of its 6,200 restaurants in the United States, the company said.
The company said it recently redesigned its Website, www.pizzahut.com ,to make online ordering easier. Customers initially enter profile information, which Pizza Hut tailors to links for special offers, menus, coupons and prices specific to the patrons' areas.
Customers also can create customized "pizza playlists" with favorite pizza orders, which are saved and available for re-order with just one click on future visits.
"We want to ensure a positive customer experience no matter how you prefer to order your pizza," said Bill Ogle, chief marketing officer for Pizza Hut. "Our new website and wide-scale online ordering capabilities allow us to do just that."
Pizza Hut was a pioneer in online ordering, starting in Santa Cruz, Calif., in 1994. The company says online orders have grown six-fold in the last three years. And an average of nearly 30 online orders are placed every minute during normal hours of operation, the company said.
