Newk’s Express Café will roll out a Newk’s “Q” pizza on Oct.17 as an eight-week-long limited-time offer.
The “Q” pizza, topped with Newk’s signature white barbecue sauce, chicken, mozzarella and provolone cheeses, ripe roma tomatoes, bacon, and jalapeño, will sell for $7.95.
“The Newk’s ‘Q’ Pizza is the perfect translation of our signature Newk’s ‘Q’ sandwich into a California-style pizza,” said Chris Newcomb, co-founder and chief executive of Jackson, Miss.-based Newk’s.
“The ‘Q’ sandwich has been a favorite among customers for years,” Newcomb said. “For a limited time, customers craving our signature white barbecue sauce on the ‘Q’ sandwich will also be able to enjoy it on a pizza.”
Newk’s Express Café — a fast-casual concept established in 2004 by Don Newcomb, Debra Bryson and Chris Newcomb, the founders of McAlister’s Deli — serves freshly tossed salads, oven-baked sandwiches, California-style pizzas, scratch-made soups and homemade cakes from Newk’s Bakery Company. Wine and beer are also available at select locations.
Newk’s operates 35 restaurants in Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. It is planning to expand to Houston, Texas; Chicago; and Richmond, Va., among other cities.
