DALLAS At this year’s Multi-Unit Foodservice Operators conference in Dallas, attendees were treated to three keynote speakers who covered how best to stand out in business, the best practices surrounding service excellence in operations, and how to learn the most from improbable events.
Nearly 700 MUFSO participants eagerly listened to some of the best minds in business: William C. Taylor, author of “Mavericks at Work” and co-founder of Fast Company; Frances X. Frei, a Harvard Business School professor and expert on service excellence; and Nassim Nicholas Taleb, author of best-seller “The Black Swan.”
Tips from the experts:
“It’s not good enough anymore to be pretty good at several things. You’ve got to be the most of something. The middle of the road is the road to ruin.” — William C. Taylor
“If we want sustainable excellence, we have to make É tradeoffs. What are the dimensions we’re going after, and what can we give up to get there?” — Frances X. Frei
“Experiment on the side so you have small losses if you are wrong and big profits if you are right.” — Nassim Nicholas Taleb
