McDonald’s appoints new CFO

OAK BROOK Ill. McDonald’s Corp. has appointed Peter J. Bensen chief financial officer, effective Jan. 1, the company said Tuesday. He succeeds Matthew Paull, who said earlier this year that he is retiring.

Bensen, 45, is currently senior vice president and corporate controller for the burger giant. He is an 11-year veteran of McDonald's, where he originally came on board as a staff director in the company's financial reporting group.

Paull, who was named CFO in 2001, said in July that he would be retiring by year-end to pursue a college teaching position.

McDonald's, based here, operates or franchises more than 30,000 restaurants worldwide.
