Marco's Pizza expands in Georgia

TOLEDO Ohio The 200-unit Marco’s Pizza said it plans to open 42 restaurants in Georgia in partnership with franchisee YaFei Zheng.

Zheng has already opened three of those units, in Dunwoody, McDonough and Suwanee, all in the Atlanta area. The remaining restaurants will be in metropolitan Atlanta and in the southern and eastern parts of Georgia.

The company said each unit employs 20 to 25 people.

Jack Butorac, president and chief executive of Toledo-based Marco's, said the chain opened 30 locations in 2009 and recently debuted its 200th location.

“Marco’s Pizza started out as a regional Midwestern company, so our expansion in Georgia and the opening of our 200th store are significant milestones as we work toward nationwide expansion,” Butorac said.

Marco's Pizza has restaurants in 17 states.
