KFC Extends ‘Bucket’S Back’ Campaign With Consumer-Generated Video

LOUISVILLE KY. KFC has extended its “The Bucket’s Back” TV campaign with a 15-second spot that consists entirely of consumer-generated video pulled from various Internet sites. —

The spot, developed by Draft/FCB Chicago, is the latest ad promoting KFC’s switch to a nonhydrogenated cooking oil free of trans fat. —

The commercial debuted during the finale of “American Idol.” —

Titled “Celebration,” the commercial features 13 clips showing people caught in the act of celebrating a special moment, such as a birthday or team victory. One clip includes a young woman who had tried out repeatedly for the “American Idol” competition but never made the initial cut. —

“The Bucket’s Back” campaign was launched in April when the Louisville-based division of Yum! Brands Inc. switched to the new cooking oil in its 5,500 U.S. units. —
