Del Taco, Captain D’s parent picks hiring management system

News

NASHVILLE Tenn. Following a successful test, Sagittarius Brands, parent of the Del Taco and Captain D’s Seafood Kitchen chains, selected Sysdine by Silver Creek Technologies LLC to better select and retain employees, the vendor indicated.

The one-year trial of Sysdine People Resource Management at selected Captain D’s restaurants saw hourly employee turnover fall by more than 100 percent and a significant reduction in management turnover, according to Johnson City, Tenn.-based Silver Creek Technologies.

Its representatives said Sysdine, which was rolled out by late October to all company-owned Captain D’s restaurants, or about half of the 550-unit chain, is a Web-based framework of tools and services supporting multiple functions. Among them: an online application process, pre-employment testing and hiring decision support, employee reviews and performance improvement planning, employee training management and workforce scheduling.

“We’ve had consistently positive feedback from our operators on the friendliness, learning speed and performance of new hires, as well as Sysdine’s ease-of-use,” said Jim Lynde, chief people officer for Nashville-based Sagittarius Brands, whose Del Taco chain has 510 quick-service Mexican restaurants. “There has been an almost immediate impact on operational results as we gain more Sysdine hires into the market.”
