LEBANON Tenn. CBRL Group Inc. said Tuesday that same-store restaurant sales at its Cracker Barrel Old Country Store family-dining chain increased 1.7 percent for the five weeks ended Feb. 1, compared with the same period a year ago.
Price increases, rather than traffic, were the main drivers behind the gain, CBRL reported.
Average checks rose about 3 percent on an average menu price increase of about 3.2 percent. Same-store retail sales at its gift shops fell 1.9 percent for the January period, the company also reported.
CBRL operates 570 Cracker Barrel Old Country Store restaurants and gift shops.
