FOXBORO Mass. CBS Corp. and the owner of the New England Patriots pro football team are partnering to open CBS Scene, a 15,000-square-foot upscale grill restaurant that could serve as the prototype for a sports-theme chain, the Boston Globe reported.
The restaurant will be adjacent to Gillette Stadium, the Patriots’ home arena.
The restaurant will anchor Patriot Place, a 1.3 million-square-foot, $350 million retail complex that is scheduled to open in the fall of 2008. Major attractions of the complex include 80 stores, a Patriots Museum, an upscale hotel, a high-end movie theater, a 500-seat jazz club and a sports medicine and health care clinic.
Housed on three floors, the CBS Scene will offer meeting space and a retail store on the first level, dining on the second floor and a bar on top featuring satellite TV on big screens.
The Globe quoted CBS chief executive Les Moonves as saying the restaurant could be the first in a chain for the entertainment and broadcasting giant.
