High-end dining company BR Guest Hospitality said Wednesday it had purchased the Strip House steakhouse brand from The Glazier Group.
Terms of the deal were not available at press time.
While the New York-based BR Guest will acquire the upscale Strip House brand, the Glazier family, which operates The Glazier Group, will retain Strip House locations in Key West and Naples, Fla., Houston and Livingston, N.J.
BR Guest will take over the chain’s New York and Las Vegas outlets.
"The Glaziers have been longtime friends and colleagues of mine, and have built an impressive brand that I am excited to make part of the BR Guest Family,” said Stephen Hanson, president and founder of BR Guest Hospitality. “We also look forward to expanding Strip House Restaurants into other key U.S. cities."
The Glazier Group, a New York-based operator of high-end restaurants, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in November 2010. At the time it owned six Strip House steakhouses in New York, New Jersey, Florida, Texas and Nevada.
In addition to the four Strip House locations, The Glazier Group will continue to operate Michael Jordan’s The Steak House N.Y.C., Bridgewaters, Twenty Four Fifth, and The Reach Resort.
BR Guest said it plans to retain all of Strip House’s current systems, and does not currently have any plans to change staffing levels at the New York and Las Vegas restaurants.
Additionally, corporate executive chef John Schenk, who has directed Strip House’s menu since 2004, will join BR Guest to lead culinary operations for the restaurant.
BR Guest’s portfolio includes restaurant brands Dos Caminos, Bill's Bar & Burger, Atlantic Grill, Ruby Foo’s and kibo Japanese Grill.
