PLANO Texas Bennigan’s Grill and Tavern said it will try to use its zero-trans-fat items as a marketing advantage when a new menu is released by the Metromedia Restaurant Group division in April.
The chain switched to trans-fat-free oil in late 2005, according to Clay Dover, executive vice president and chief concept officer for Metromedia Casual Dining, the Metromedia operation that includes Bennigan’s and sister brand Steak and Ale. The 310-unit Bennigan’s will start to tout the changeover in its 270 domestic stores when the new menu is adopted.
