42 CEO moves from 2022

Heads of companies were shuffled more than usual this year

This year held more CEO moves than the previous year – by a lot. We saw 43 CEO moves whether it be retirements or promotions, 12 more than 2021.

The fourth quarter, a traditionally quiet quarter for C-suite moves, held a large number of those C-suite moves with 12 second only to the first quarter where big moves like Kevin Johnson leaving Starbucks were announced. Rich Allison also left Domino’s in the first quarter along with Charlie Morrison leaving Wingstop.

Their replacements were swiftly announced.

Some of the more flashy moves included Kelli Valade leaving her post at Red Lobster – where she had been for less than a year – to become the new CEO of Denny’s and Kevin Hochman leaving KFC to succeed Wyman Roberts at Brinker International.
