Texas Roadhouse finds online training resource

News

LOUISVILLE Ky. Casual-dining restaurant operator and franchisor Texas Roadhouse LLC, based here, has hired TrainRight Solutions to develop online training materials for employees at the more than 173 units operated by the company, sources there said.

"With 28,000 employees and more than 1,000 managers in 44 states, it can be a challenge to set up training sessions that fit everyone's schedules. TrainRight's customized e-learning programs are an efficient and convenient management tool to train our employees across the nation,'" said Texas Roadhouse's Mark Simpson, who carries the unconventional title of senior director of "Legendary People."

In addition to its company-run restaurants, Texas Roadhouse franchises approximately 90 restaurants to others.

Officials at Louisville-based TrainRight said the training materials created for Texas Roadhouse will be available to the franchisor's employees around the clock, seven days a week. They said the training system will not burden Texas Roadhouse's in-house computer servers, as it will be hosted on TrainRight's proprietary, Internet-based platform that further aids employers by monitoring user progress and documenting that trainees have completed required programs.
