IHOP and Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar, hammered by a resurgence in COVID-19 cases and the dining-room closures that resulted from that, halted the improving performance that was underway but pushed forward with initiatives that leadership at parent company Dine Brands Global expects will set the two chains up well for recovery.
