Ron Wrigley of Ventura Foods dies

SAN DIEGO Ron Wrigley, vice president of national accounts for Ventura Foods, died at his home in San Diego on Sept. 27 after a battle with cancer. He was 55.

Wrigley had been with Brea, Calif.-based Ventura Foods since 1997 and was responsible for the company’s corporate chain department. He was credited with developing many of the business platforms within the company that support chain operators.

“Foodservice was much more than just a job for Ron, it was part of his life,” said Jim Goggin, senior vice president, foodservice groups, Ventura Foods. “He often made it clear that his customers were not just clients, they were his friends.”

Goggin said Wrigley deeply appreciated the cards, letters and emails he received from friends and business associates throughout his struggle with cancer.

“He asked that I make certain that all spend a few minutes each day appreciating what you have in life and to live it to the fullest,” said Goggin. “Ron will be missed for his positive attitude towards life and his passion and love for his friends at Ventura Foods.”

Wrigley is survived by a daughter, Alex, and his former wife, Lauri.
