Rock Bottom, Redwood earn 'Brewpub of Year' honors

DENVER Rock Bottom Brewing of Louisville, Colo., and Redwood Brewing Co. of Flint, Mich., both took home "Brewpub of the Year" honors at the Great American Beer Festival held here recently.

Rock Bottom, which crafts beers for the 29-unit Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery chain, received the award in the large-brewpub category, while Redwood, which brews for the Redwood Lodge, also located in Flint, won in the small-brewpub group.

A total of 2,902 beers were judged during the event, all vying for a share of 225 medals awarded in 75 beer style categories, ranging from American-Style Light Lager to Wood- and Barrel-Aged Sour Beer.
