SAN ANTONIO The 130-unit, fast-casual Taco Cabana chain based here has selected PlayNetwork Inc. to provide customized music and playlists and deliver that sound chainwide using proprietary technology for distributing, managing and playing digital content.
Redmond, Wash.-based PlayNetwork devised a programming strategy to enhance Taco Cabana's "cabana style" legend and character, according to vendor sources. They said that while Southwest Americano and Latin inspired music anchors the Taco Cabana music "brand" on a national basis, regionally influenced music and music supporting different business dayparts also are being programmed.
Taco Cabana vice president of marketing Sandy Salinas said the custom-music program is aimed at building "an emotional connection" with customers.
