Pizza Hut's largest franchisee to buy 59 units

OVERLAND PARK Kan. NPC International Inc., the world's largest Pizza Hut franchisee, has agreed to buy 59 more units in Idaho, Oregon and Washington state for $27.1 million.

NPC will acquire the units from Pizza Hut of Idaho Inc., Rocky Mountain Pizza Huts Inc., Northwest Restaurant Group Inc. and Northern Idaho Pizza Huts Inc. The units generated $46.7 million in sales last year, according to NPC, and consist of 51 restaurants, six delivery and carryout units and two express units.

NPC, which already franchises 815 Pizza Hut units in 23 states, expects the acquisition to be completed by mid-March. Pizza Hut is a division of Louisville, Ky.-based Yum! Brands.
