Piccadilly offers free meals for kids

BATON ROUGE La. Piccadilly Restaurants LLC said Tuesday it would offer kids ages 6 and under free meals with the purchase of an adult meal after 4 p.m. at all of its 120 cafeterias.

The kids-eat-free offer, which includes an entree, two sides, a drink and dessert, kicks off Thursday and will run for a limited time, the company said, though no ending date was given.

Piccadilly is also offering 99-cent meal deals for children 12 and younger from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursdays and Saturdays if an adult meal is purchased. The children’s discounts are for dine-in meals only.

“With the current economic downturn, offering kids specials is our way of saying thank you to our guests’ loyal support over the past 65 years," said Tom Sandeman, chief financial officer for Piccadilly.

Avariety of chains have showcased deals for kids in recent weeks, including Boston Market, which is running a "Two Kids Eat Free" promotion through Oct. 31. In addition, Chipotle is introducing its kids' menu in several markets by offering a free kids' meal one day a week with the purchase of a full-size burrito, burrito bowl, salad or taco.
