NEW YORK Fine dining chef and restaurateur Charlie Palmer will open a restaurant at a Bloomingdale's in Costa Mesa, Calif.
Aspokeswoman for the Charlie Palmer Group, based here, said the restaurant, which will be called Charlie Palmer, is expected to open next winter. The executive chef at the restaurant will be Amar Santana, who currently is executive sous chef at Palmer's flagship restaurant, Aureole in New York City.
The Costa Mesa Bloomingdale's is slated to open this spring at the South Coast Plaza shopping mall.
Further details of the restaurant are still being worked out, Palmer's spokeswoman said.
Palmer operates four restaurants in New York, steakhouses in Las Vegas and Washington, D.C., the fine dining restaurant Aureole in Las Vegas, Hotel Healdsburg in Healdsburg, Calif., and Lime Stone, a house wares shop in Healdsburg.
