Morrison Management to offer Weight Watchers selections

ATLANTA Morrison Management Specialists, the healthcare feeding division of Compass Group PLC, has partnered with Weight Watchers to offer that company's menu items in Morrison-managed cafeterias at hospitals and medical facilities.

The Weight Watchers-branded foods will be available to medical personnel and hospital visitors as main entrées, combos, hot and cold side dishes, grab-and-go items and desserts. The items will use Weight Watchers' proprietary Points food system, which promotes healthful eating and weight loss through a balanced consumption plan. Menu boards will list not only the points, but also the amount of fat, grams of fiber and calories in each dish. Morrison, which tested the program in 2005, will roll out the Weight Watcher items nationally this spring. Morrison services 430 acute care facilities and 375 senior living residences.

Applebee's, the 1,942 casual-dining chain, also has an agreement to offer Weight Watchers-branded menu choices.
