OAK BROOK Ill. McDonald’s today launched a Happy Meal tie-in to the opening of “Speed Racer” that includes eight toys based on the on the race cars and accessories in the film.
Cars include Speed Racer’s Mach 5 and Rex Racer’s Mach 4, as well as cars driven by Speed’s rivals Taejo Togokhan, the Grey Ghost and others. Each car performs a different stunt.
The accessories are trendy, lifestyle items such as purses and jewelry, including a “blinged-out” race car and Chim Chim charm. Happy Meals contain either one car or one accessory.
The toys are designed for children aged 3 and older, but McDonald’s restaurants also offer Happy Meal toys for younger children upon customer request.
