McD dusts off Big Mac jingle for new promo

OAK BROOK Ill. McDonald’s Corp. has launched a national contest asking consumers to submit videos or audio remixes of the “two all-beef patties” Big Mac jingle to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the chain’s signature sandwich.

The Big Mac, invented by franchisee Jim “MJ” Delligatti in 1967, was introduced on McDonald’s national menu a year later. In 1974, Needham Harper & Steers created the popular jingle to showcase the Big Mac’s ingredients.
