KFC’s Southern Calif. stores to showcase new grilled items

SAN MARINO Calif. KFC said it will debut a grilled-chicken bowl and other grilled products on Monday exclusively in its southern California locations.

The new Grilled Mexi Bowl contains strips of all-white breast meat marinated and grilled in a blend of herbs and spices, then combined with Mexican-style rice, jalapeno pinto beans and pico de gallo.

The other products include the Grilled Snacker, a new version of a popular KFC sandwich; the Grilled Twister, which is a grilled all-white meat chicken strip wrapped in a soft, warm tortilla with shredded iceberg lettuce, tomatoes and pepper mayo sauce; and Grilled Strips Kids Laptop Meal, which now offers the choice of grilled chicken strips.

Prices will vary by store. A Grilled Mexi Bowl combo is expected to sell for $4.99, Grilled Snacker Combo for $4.59, Grilled Twister Combo for $5.49 and Grilled Strips Laptop Meal for $3.99.

The items will be available at 290 units throughout Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, San Bernardino and Riverside counties. The rollout will be supported with TV and radio spots and in-store material.
