PLANO Texas Clay Dover, president and chief marketing officer of Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers, has been named to the Dallas Business Journal's list of "40 Under 40."
The newspaper’s program recognizes the accomplishments of executives under age 40. Dover, 37, was named to his Raising Cane’s post in July 2008 and now oversees the quick-service chain's more than 80 stores in 13 states.
"I could not ask for a greater honor than to be acknowledged for a career that I love in an industry that grants so much satisfaction in return," Dover said.
Dover began his restaurant career at 16 when he worked as a busboy for Bob's Big Boy in California. He has worked with such brands as Semolina, Left at Albuquerque, Blue Chalk Cafe and Houlihan's Restaurant Group. Before joining Raising Cane's, he was president and CEO of Bennigan's former parent, Metromedia Restaurant Group in Plano, Texas.
Earlier this year, Dover opened a Dallas restaurant support office for Baton Rouge, La.-based Raising Cane's. The company said it had more than $140 million in revenue in 2008 and that same-store sales are up 7.7 percent so far this year.
