Bob Evans long-time CFO to retire

COLUMBUS Ohio Bob Evans Farms Inc. chief financial officer, treasurer and assistant secretary, Don Radkoski, will retire in April, at the end of the company’s fiscal year, after nearly 30 years with the restaurant company.

He will be replaced by Tod Spornhauer, senior vice president for finance, controller, assistant treasurer and assistant secretary, Bob Evans Farms said Friday.

Spornhauer, who has held his current roles since 2003, will report to chairman and chief executive Steve Davis.

Radkoski has worked with Bob Evans, the parent to the 570-unit Bob Evans family-dining chain, the 144-unit Mimi’s Café casual-dining chain and a food processing division, since 1980. He has held his current positions since 1993.

For its latest quarter ended July 24, restaurant sales trends at Bob Evans remained negative. Quarterly same-store sales fell 3.0 percent and corporate revenue declined 2.5 percent to $429.5 million. Because of cost cutting measures, Bob Evans was able to increase its profit nearly 17 percent to $16.1 million.
