MIAMI Burger King on Monday launched a global “Hang Out with the Simpsons” Kids’ Meal promotion, featuring six toys based on characters in the long-running animated TV show.
Although the promotion is not tied to a “tentpole event,” such as a movie or DVD release, it is “one of our biggest yet,” according to Twentieth Century Fox Licensing and Merchandising, Burger King’s promotional partner.
Burger King Kids’ Meals will include one of six connectable toys based on characters in the show. The toys join together so kids can re-create the couch scene in the show’s opening credits.
The promotion is rolling out simultaneously in the United States and 58 international territories. Burger King has nearly 12,000 units worldwide.
Marketing support includes national TV ads in the United States, Turkey, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Argentina and New Zealand, as well as a presence on www.clubbk.com.
