Domino’s has partnered with betting platform DraftKings to give Americans a chance to bet on the chain’s average carside delivery time, the brand announced Monday. The partnership was announced as Domino’s made a new promise to customers: order online and your food will be delivered car side within two minutes, or the food is free.
The challenge, developed with DraftKings, lets customers bet on that new promise.
Dubbed the “Domino’s Carside Delivery 2-Minute Guarantee Over/Under Challenge,” customers have a chance to guess if Domino’s Carside Delivery nationwide will be quicker than two minutes, more or less than 80% of the time.
“Did Domino’s just ask America to predict the over/under on our new two-minute guarantee? Oh yes we did,” said Art D’Elia, Domino’s chief marketing officer, in a statement. “We want customers to put our guarantee to the test.”
Customers who enter the free challenge with the Ann Arbor, Mich.-based quick-service company could win a share of $200,000 if they accurately predict the over/under.
“While Domino’s is no stranger to guarantees, this is the first time DraftKings has created a betting pool based on a company’s performance,” D’Elia said in a statement.
“We want to make every delivery to customers’ cars an easy and fast experience, and if we don’t, we’re going to make it right. As a company that prides itself on transparency, and to show how much we believe in our franchisees and stores across the country, we’re giving customers the opportunity to predict how we'll do and have a little fun, for free!”
Domino’s brought back its Noid character earlier this year, releasing an 80’s trend back into its marketing strategy.
Domino’s is currently the 10th largest chain by units in the U.S. with 6,343 units according to Datassential.
