In other news, Tijuana Flats Restaurants LLC, the 124-unit fast-casual Tex-Mex brand, has named Joe Christina as chief executive and board member, the company announced Monday.

The Orlando, Fla.-based company said Christina most recently served as CEO, president and board member at Atlanta-based Church’s Texas Chicken. He succeeds Brian Wright, who was named in September as CEO of Addison, Texas-based Bar Louie.

Also, Bloomin’ Brands Inc., parent to Outback Steakhouse and other casual-dining concepts, is updating technology in both the front and back of the house that it expects will improve service levels and food quality, executives said Friday.

The Tampa, Fla.-based company, which also owns the Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar and Aussie Grill concepts, said technological investments would help wait staff and food offerings.
