Here are some of the news stories trending this week on

To celebrate the upcoming holiday season, Kentucky Fried Chicken® is unveiling winter’s hottest dining accessory – a limited-edition and original (like our fried chicken recipe) Finger Lickin’ Chicken Mitten Bucket Hugger – to turn your bucket of KFC’s world-famous fried chicken into the ultimate holiday must-have.

Starting November 9 through November 11, while supplies last, customers who order a qualifying KFC bucket meal for delivery or pickup on or the KFC app will receive a confirmation email to claim their very own Finger Lickin’ Chicken Mitten Bucket Hugger this holiday season.

Also, facing criticism for a text to Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot that was deemed racist and insensitive following the shooting death of two children earlier this year, McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski walked back his comments on Wednesday, admitting they “lacked empathy and compassion.”

Kempczinski’s mea culpa came in a note to U.S. corporate staff — and viewed by Nation’s Restaurant News — that he sent after a private text exchange in April with Lightfoot was made public this week.
