Chick-fil-A Asia, Domino’s CMO, restaurant sales

Chick-fil-A plans to plant its flag in Asia next year. The chicken giant is spending about $75 million to ramp up its presence in the market throughout the next 10 years. The chain will initially open in Singapore in late 2025.

A Domino’s executive got a big promotion. The company has promoted its chief brand officer Kate Trumbull to EVP, global chief marketing officer.

Restaurant sales accelerated in September. That’s according to retail sales data released on Thursday. Sales at restaurants and bars increased 1% in September, their highest rate since November of last year.

That said, traffic at fast-food restaurants remains weak despite a summer of value. Traffic to quick-service chains has declined each of the past three months, according to data from Black Box Intelligence.

Restaurants managed at least partially by robots are coming to some Walmart stores. Ghost Kitchen Brands, which has locations in Walmarts in the U.S. and Canada, has tapped RichTech Robotics as an operator for 20 locations in Arizona, Colorado, and Texas.
