7 major restaurant acquisitions in June

The halfway mark for 2021 comes with a lot of action in the industry

As we hit the halfway mark of 2021 and begin to look toward the second half of the year, many restaurant chains appear to be buying and selling.

In the month of June alone, we saw seven companies either buying or selling off bits and pieces. Some restaurant groups, like FAT Brands, purchased entire companies to increase their reach. Others, like Luby’s, sold off each part of their businesses as part of bankruptcy proceedings.

While the Delta variant of the COVID-19 virus is still a factor, most cities in the U.S. are almost fully reopened with customers forgoing masks, and it appears that restaurant chains have decided now is the time to buy or sell.

See which restaurant groups are looking forward in the next half of 2021 and into 2022 with this list of restaurant chains and groups who made big financial moves in the month of June.
