Freebies and special menu items entice fans of the classic dessert

The love for cookies is going strong, according to a recent survey conducted by researchers from National Today, a holiday calendar website. Out of 1,000 Americans, 70 percent indicated that they eat cookies at least once a week. With the dessert’s popularity in mind, restaurants are aiming to make some extra dough on National Cookie Day, on Dec. 4, by doling out free treats and new cookie flavors. See the sweet offerings.
