Yoshinoya, Mellow Mushroom parent tap same POS-BOH tech provider

News

TORRANCE Calif. Japanese food chain operator and franchisor Yoshinoya West Inc., based here, is deploying to more than 70 company-operated restaurants both point-of-sale, or POS, and back-office technology from Radiant Systems Inc.

"Finding a complete technology solution from a single provider was critical to our selection process, and Radiant met this need better than any other company we evaluated," said Keith Shiozaki, Yoshinoya senior vice president. Shiozaki also noted the vendor's "proven success in helping operators enhance service levels and generate timely, actionable data that drives profitable decision-making."

Yoshinoya will use Radiant's fully integrated Aloha QuickService POS, eCard, eFrequency and Kitchen Display System products, as well as the Alpharetta, Ga.-based vendor's P1220 terminals. According to Radiant sources, Yoshinoya also selected the supplier's MenuLink Back Office management system and the Aloha Enterprise.com above-store reporting and multiunit data aggregation service.

In other news, Radiant said Atlanta-based Home-Grown Industries of Georgia Inc., franchisor of Mellow Mushroom pizza-and-microbeer restaurants, has called for the use of Aloha TableService POS software and Enterprise.com above-store reporting tools in new and renovated units. Johnny Hudgins, the 80-plus-unit chain's director of operations, said the Radiant technology installed in more than 50 Mellow Mushroom stores, to date, "will assist us in making more informed decisions."

Mellow Mushroom installations are being handled by Radiant reseller Hospitality Control Solutions of Nashville.
