Saxbys Coffee chooses POS and supporting systems

PHILADELPHIA Franchisor Saxbys Coffee Worldwide, based here, selected for its standard point-of-sale technology Micros Systems Inc. e7 software and Workstation 5 touchscreen terminals and will maintain menus systemwide using the vendor's Enterprise Management Solution, Micros said.

Officials of Columbia, Md.-based Micros said all 50-plus company-owned and franchised branches of the coffee chain will also use the Micros iCare gift card and loyalty system to support the Saxbys Coffee Go Card, as well as the online mymicros.net business intelligence service. The e7/Workstation 5 system, they said, runs on the embedded Windows CE .NET operating system.

"A consistent, efficient enterprise management solution is critical for the Saxbys franchise system. Our ability to capture sales information and manage our menu across the brand is fundamental to building value and growing our customer base," said Nick Bayer, Saxbys president and chief executive. "We are also impressed with the way Micros iCare and mymicros.net allow us to better understand our customers' preferences while allowing us the capability to evaluate the success of our marketing campaigns."
