Restaurant Advertising Awards honor excellence in TV, radio spots

WASHINGTON —Nation’s Restaurant News honored the year’s most creative television and radio commercials with its Restaurant Advertising Awards, presented during the 2008 Multi-Unit Foodservice Operators conference held here recently.

“The commercials we’re honoring here today are the best examples we’ve found of cutting through the clutter, keeping people from hitting the fast-forward button or changing the radio station,” said Chris Keating, national sales director for Nation’s Restaurant News, who emceed the awards presentation. Winning spots were played during the ceremony. —Nation’s Restaurant News honored the year’s most creative television and radio commercials with its Restaurant Advertising Awards, presented during the 2008 Multi-Unit Foodservice Operators conference held here recently.

Winners were determined based on companies’ annual sales and the advertising medium. Best radio campaign for sales under $100 million: Jerry’s Subs & Pizza, Gaithersburg, Md., “Jerry’s Brand Personality.” —Nation’s Restaurant News honored the year’s most creative television and radio commercials with its Restaurant Advertising Awards, presented during the 2008 Multi-Unit Foodservice Operators conference held here recently.

Best television campaign for sales under $100 million: Kings Family Restaurants, McKeesport, Pa., “Abandoned.” —Nation’s Restaurant News honored the year’s most creative television and radio commercials with its Restaurant Advertising Awards, presented during the 2008 Multi-Unit Foodservice Operators conference held here recently.

Best television single for sales under $100 million: Pier W, Beachwood, Ohio, “Pier W City Lights.” —Nation’s Restaurant News honored the year’s most creative television and radio commercials with its Restaurant Advertising Awards, presented during the 2008 Multi-Unit Foodservice Operators conference held here recently.

Best radio campaign for sales between $100 million and $500 million: Shari’s Restaurants, Beaverton, Ore., “Now Serving at Shari’s.” —Nation’s Restaurant News honored the year’s most creative television and radio commercials with its Restaurant Advertising Awards, presented during the 2008 Multi-Unit Foodservice Operators conference held here recently.

Best television campaign for sales between $100 million and $500 million: tie between Bonefish Grill, Tampa, Fla., “Recipes,” and Zaxby’s Franchising, Athens, Ga., “Indescribably Good.” —Nation’s Restaurant News honored the year’s most creative television and radio commercials with its Restaurant Advertising Awards, presented during the 2008 Multi-Unit Foodservice Operators conference held here recently.
