McDonald's says the old and the new combined for a 3.5% comp rise in April

OAK BROOK Ill. McDonald's Corp. credited its breakfast menu, Happy Meals and Snack Wrap for a 3.5 percent rise in domestic same-store sales during April, which also brought a 4.2 percent increase in U.S. systemwide sales.

Global comparable sales rose 4.8 percent during the month, and worldwide sales jumped 9.6 percent, the company said.

Robust sales in France and Russia contributed to a 3.5 percent rise in comparable sales within the quick-service
