Ducasse revives Jules Verne eatery in Paris


PARIS Internationally renowned chef-restaurateur Alain Ducasse reopened the Jules Verne restaurant on the second floor of France's most famous landmark, the 118-year-old Eiffel Tower, on Dec. 22.

Ducasse operates 20-plus restaurants around the world, including Mix in TheHotel at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas and the soon-to-open Adour in the St. Regis hotel in New York.

The Jules Verne is situated about 400 feet above the streets of Paris and features a menu that Ducasse characterized as being "100-percent French." The newly renovated restaurant can seat about 120 in a minimalist space that emphasizes the dining room's panoramic view of the city. The lunch menu is priced at about $108, while dinner runs closer to $225.

In November Ducasse opened a restaurant in the Dorchester hotel in London. He also has restaurants in Hong Kong, Tokyo and throughout France.
