Brakebush announces the purchase of Wells Food Processing in Wells, Minnesota. The purchase was effective April 21, 2016 and was previously owned by North Central Equity LLC.

Founded in 1925 by brothers William and Otto Brakebush, Brakebush is proud to be U.S. owned and operated by the Brakebush family for over 90 years. Brakebush provides the food industry with over 200 high quality great tasting chicken products.

Brakebush has its state-of-the-art processing facility and corporate headquarters in Westfield, Wisconsin and a raw portioning plant in Irving, Texas. Since acquiring its Texas operation three years ago, Brakebush has more than doubled its overall business. From these two facilities, Brakebush services a wide array of customers in the fast casual, college/university, healthcare, school, convenience store, national chain and retail segments.

The purchase of the Wells plant adds a third processing facility and second fully cooked operation. “Adding the Wells facility puts us in a great position to continue to grow our existing customer base and aggressively pursue new business” notes company President Scott Sanders.

Adds Wells City Administrator Robin Leslie “We’re excited about adding Brakebush to our industrial base and the manufacturing jobs they’ll bring to our community.”
